Hi, I’m Danielle.
Thanks for stopping by! I am many things, including a wife, a dog mom, a runner, a writer, a content creator, and a creativity lover.
I currently live with my husband and two fur babies in Charlotte, North Carolina. I moved from Upstate New York in October 2014 (with my husband joining shortly after) and we've been in love with the city ever since.
I attended the University at Albany in Upstate New York for both my undergraduate and graduate studies. There I earned a Bachelor's in Accounting (minors in Business Administration and Sociology) and a Master's in Professional Accountancy. I know what you're thinking, accounting and writing aren't exactly related. Well, you're right.
This is my story.
After college, I started my career at a Big 4 accounting firm in New York. It was any accounting major's dream. But I soon realized it wasn't mine. After some soul searching, I landed a career in Resource Management at, surprise, an accounting firm.
Somewhere in between college and crunching numbers, I unearthed my passion for writing and creating. I wrote as a child and hands down preferred papers over tests in school, but it wasn't until I wanted to share my career and life experiences with others that it all started to make sense. That's when I began freelance writing, blogging, and creating content.
While on paper my path may appear unconventional, I am passionate about content. I love telling stories and covering topics that provide knowledge and value to its readers, including career, lifestyle, wellness, and everything else in between.
Now for the fun stuff.
Here are some random facts about me that will help you get to know me better:
I have a huge sweet tooth. If it’s sweet, I want to eat it (unless it’s a dessert with fruit in it, then that’s a hard pass).
I get emotional about coffee. I love it so much. It’s more about the experience than the taste. Cozying up to an almond milk latte at a cute local coffee shop is my idea of an ideal Saturday afternoon.
I have two fur babies. Mister Moose Chubbs and Sir Henry Reginald. They are my world and, combined, my spirit animal. Seriously, dogs are the best.
I follow a gluten-free diet. It’s an allergy, not a preference. I miss bread and beer so much. I’m not diagnosed with Celiac, but it runs in the family. So the quickest way to my heart is with a GF sweet treat (see #1).
My husband and I met in college through mutual friends, and we were long distance for the first four years of our relationship. The first time we met, he told me he was going to come back to visit and take me on a date. I thought he was blowing smoke. Sure enough, a week and a half later we had our first date at The Cheesecake Factory.
My favorite season is fall. I come alive when the weather starts to cool down and the leaves begin to change. I truly become my best self in the fall, especially during my birthday month, October.
I have a weird thing for giraffes. More specially, giraffes figurines or home decorations. It all started when I found a small metal giraffe in a Barnes and Noble clearance bin years ago. They bring me so much joy. I really don’t get my fascination, but I leaned into it.
