Marathon Training: Week 3
As Week 2 comes to a close, I'm back in Charlotte after visiting family in NY for over a week. As amazing as it is to spend time with family and friends, I'm ready to get back to my normal routine. I'm happy I (mostly) stuck to my training schedule while being out of town. I didn't get any cross-training in, but I still ran my planned weekly mileage of 16.1 miles.
Here's how Week 2 training went:
Monday 7/3: 3.1-mile morning run (Total time: 28:11 | Pace: 8:57/mile). Don't forget to treat yourself every now and then!
Tuesday 7/4: 3-mile afternoon run (Total time: 24:42 | Pace: 8:07/mile)
Wednesday 7/5: Rest
Thursday 7/6: Rest
Friday 7/7: 5k Friday! (Total time: 29:15 | Pace: 9:10/mile)
Saturday 7/8: 7-mile morning run (Total time: 1:04:10 | Pace: 9:09/mile)
Sunday 7/9: Rest. Doug and I drove through the night on Saturday to get back home. This was a much-needed rest day.
What I learned from Week 2: When traveling, try your hardest to stick to your training schedule. As difficult as it may be to find the time to squeeze in a run, you'll be happy that you did.
Here's what I have planned for Week 3:
What are you currently training for? I'd love to hear!
