Another year, another marathon. That's how the saying goes, right?
I'm so excited to announce that I'm going to be representing the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon as an ambassador for a second year!
My experience last year was seriously one for the books. The people I met throughout the year are some of the best people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They're positivity and excitement about running reminded me why I'm so in love with the sport, even on the hard days.
It was great to have so many people coming together to share in an experience that means so much to everyone, but each their own unique way.
When the applications opened to apply to become an ambassador this year, I knew I had to do it again. To my excitement, they choose me again, as well as five other ambassadors from last year!
This year. the six of us are coming back as team captains to help our teams plan amazing events throughout the year to support and promote the race, in addition to continuing to foster a community of people who love to run.
As an ambassador, you'll see me around town at a lot of races and events leading up to the big day. I've already signed up to be a part of the Run For Your Life Six Pack Race Series and I'm still planning on running twelve races in twelve months this year.
I hope to see you out and about in the community this year and on November 3rd!
There's a distance for everyone, so don't think you need to run a marathon to participate. Of course, there's the full marathon, but there's also a half-marathon, 5k , marathon relay, and a kid's run. There really is something for everyone, no matter your preferred distance, ability, or speed. You can learn more about the races at www.runcharlotte.com.
When you decide to sign up, make sure to say you heard about the race from Danielle Doolen. The ambassador with the most race sign-ups at the end of the season receives $1,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.
I'm so excited to be back and running Charlotte. While I haven't committed to a distance yet, I'm leaning towards the full marathon. I've done it once and I'd love to do it again to prove to myself that I can be better than before.
I'll be sure to keep you updated on my journey along the way!
Are you running the 2018 Novant Health Charlotte Marathon? Do you have questions about the race? Let me know!
