On November 11th,
I'm running a marathon...again.
I ran my first marathon last year and loved the experience so much that I'm doing it again. This year, I won't be running as a first-time marathoner. I'll be running as a Novant Health Charlotte Marathon Ambassador. Training for a marathon is many things: fun, tiring, exhilarating, challenging, the list goes on and on. The experience is equally as mental as it is physical. Over the months leading up to a marathon, you're likely to grow as a athlete, question your sanity (why did I sign up for this again?), and feel more accomplished and proud of yourself than you ever thought possible.
As an ambassador, my goal is to spread the word about the many races offered on race day, promote awareness, and encourage others to live a healthy lifestyle. If you sign-up for any distance of the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon and select my name during registration, you'll help me increase my chance of winning $1,000 to donate to Girls on the Run. GOTR is an amazing non-profit whose mission is to "inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running."
This year, I'll be sharing my training and my journey with you. Each week, I'll be posting my training schedule and recapping the previous week on the blog.
What are you waiting for?
Let's do this!
