I’ve been a huge fan of Career Contessa since I learned about the site years ago. If you’ve never heard of it, Career Contessa is the only career site built exclusively for women. They have articles, interviews, e-learning, podcasts, and more. It’s the BEST resource I’ve found whenever I have a career question, from how to answer difficult interview questions to how to negotiate your salary. If you’re in the working world, I highly recommend checking it out.

I’ve considered pitching articles to them before, but for one reason or another I never did. It wasn’t until I officially made the full-time jump out of the accounting realm into social media and communications that I felt I had something to say that people might want to hear.

A lot of people make career transitions. That’s not what’s unique about me. What is unique is my perspective on the situation and my story. And it was time to tell mine.

So back in August, I finally wrote that pitch and hit send. I was ecstatic to learn they loved the idea and wanted me to write the piece. Fast forward to last month and it went live!

I’m excited to share my journey with you. When I started my career transition two years out of college, I felt confused and alone. My hope is that by telling my story I may make at least one person going through the same thing feel seen and heard. You’re not alone. You can do this, and I promise you will figure it out.
