Happy Birthday to me!

Today marks my 28th year on this earth. It’s crazy to think I’m in the latter part of my 20s and 30 is right around the corner.

I’ve never been afraid of getting older. I learn so much year after year that I’m excited to see what the future holds. Hopefully, every year I become a little bit wiser and a better version of myself.

This year for my birthday, I’m sharing 28 things I’ve learned in the past 28 years.

  1. People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

  2. Hindsight is 20-20.

  3. Done is better than perfect. Just start.

  4. Dogs are a girl's best friend. Seriously, I don’t know what we did to deserve them.

  5. Love is love is love.

  6. Do things that scare you.

  7. Laughter is the cure for most things.

  8. Fake it until you make it.

  9. Plan enough, but not too much.

  10. Put your faith in the Universe. It has bigger plans than what you can see.

  11. Speak things into existence. It works.

  12. Take risks. Big ones. And take them often.

  13. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. You never know what life is going to throw your way.

  14. Just eat the cookie.

  15. Make time to take care of yourself. Sleep in. Get the massage. You only have one body, take care of it.

  16. Believe in yourself. Because if you don’t, how can anyone else?

  17. If you can’t stop thinking about it, do it.

  18. Friends can be family, too.

  19. Being a good person costs nothing.

  20. It’s okay to say no.

  21. It’s also okay to let go of things that no longer serve you.

  22. Marriage is really cool. So is being in love with your best friend.

  23. Make the time to call your loved ones. You’ll wish you did once they’re gone.

  24. Trust your gut. 99% of the time, it’s right.

  25. Have fun! Be silly and weird and laugh. A lot.

  26. Don’t take life too seriously.

  27. Follow your passions. Even if you don't know what your passions are, follow what feels right. You’ll figure it out eventually.

  28. Always love.
