My First Popsugar Article Where I Get Real About Pimples

I’ve suffered from acne for as long as I can remember. Pimples on my face. Pimples on my back. You name the place, I felt self-conscious about it.

Fast forward through puberty and awkward teenage years, and I’ve gained confidence, but acne still gets me. Annoyed with using make-up to cover it up all the time (and with some encouragement from my husband), I decided to bare it all.

I challenged myself to stop wearing makeup for ten days. I exposed myself to the world. No makeup. No covering it up.

Not only did I bare my bare face to the world, but I wrote about the experience in my first article for Popsugar. I love writing for new publications and reaching new audiences, and this was a story I needed to share.

I’m excited and hopeful that other women and girls will read the article and feel comfortable in their own skin. They don’t need to pile on the makeup to cover up their imperfections. They can go bare face and feel beautiful.

We’re all human, and acne happens. It’s okay. Everything will be okay.
