My Camera Roll

16,626.

That’s the number of photos I currently have on my photo. I’m always taking pictures and, over time, they add up.

Because I have a pretty terrible memory, taking photos allows me to recall events, people, and things that are likely to slip my mind as the days and weeks pass. I try my best not to live my life through a screen, but I definitely think there’s a huge benefit (at least for me) of taking countless pictures.

While some of these photos end up on social media to be shared with the world, there’s a whole lot more that live within my phone—waiting for me to stumble across them months later.

As the saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

Pictures tell stories. They provide joy by recalling memories of happy times. They make us laugh. They show us how far we’ve come.

I was sitting at home one day contemplating freeing up space on my phone by deleting pictures, and I thought why not share some of these forgotten photos with the world.

So that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I’m sharing pictures of my life this past year. No filters. No edits. No rhyme or reason.

As I was going through the exercise of finding and deleting photos, I realize I had way more than one post worth. So I’ll be breaking up my year in pictures, in multiple posts. Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for more.

Enjoy taking a stroll down memory lane with me.
